Breast reduction — Just Clinic Istanbul

As of September 2026, the indicative breast reduction surgery cost in Turkey on this page is 3,500-5,500 EUR per operation. The final plan depends on the amount of tissue removed, breast shape, incision pattern, anaesthesia, hospital care and written inclusions after assessment.

Each month, Just Clinic Istanbul collects current prices / costs for breast reduction procedures from 30 hospitals randomly selected from our partner network, listed on our Hospitals page. We compare equivalent treatment plans and publish the lowest and highest reported prices as a minimum–maximum range. They are a neutral, objective reference, not the price of a single hospital or clinic and not a personal offer from Just Clinic Istanbul.

The final written quote can change with complexity, technique, anaesthesia, hospital arrangements, tests, medication, accommodation, transfers and follow-up. Anything not named in writing should be treated as outside the price.

With your consent, enquiries may be forwarded to independent healthcare providers or authorised medical tourism organisations.

Use the country table as editorial orientation only. Ranges can cover different scopes from one country to another; compare the same procedure, inclusions and follow-up in writing before treating any figure as meaningful.

Breast reduction surgery, or reduction mammoplasty, removes selected breast tissue, fat and skin and reshapes the remaining breast to reduce size and improve proportion. The defined plan on this page covers both breasts, including the lift and contouring that may be needed as part of the reduction. It does not include implants.

People may consider reduction because of heaviness, discomfort, skin irritation, difficulty with exercise or the effect of breast size on clothing and daily life. Surgery cannot guarantee identical breasts, no scars, permanent nipple sensation or the ability to breastfeed in the future. The treating hospital or clinic handles appointments and communication and arranges practical services only where listed in the written offer; the named surgeon is responsible for the clinical assessment and operation.

Surgeons may consider bilateral reduction for adults in generally good health whose breast size is stable and whose symptoms or concerns are not addressed by supportive measures. The consultation should cover your breast history, pregnancies, future pregnancy plans, weight changes, medicines, smoking, previous surgery, family history and any breast symptom that needs medical assessment.

Stable weight is helpful because later weight change, pregnancy or breastfeeding can alter the result. Surgery may be postponed if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, your weight is changing substantially, a medical issue affects healing or anaesthesia, or breast screening is incomplete. A new lump, nipple discharge, skin change or one-sided change must be assessed clinically rather than treated as a cosmetic concern.

  • Planning: the surgeon measures both breasts, discusses the target size and marks the reduction and lift pattern.
  • Tissue reduction: selected skin, glandular tissue and fat are removed while preserving a safe blood supply to the nipple and remaining breast.
  • Reshaping: the breast mound and nipple position are adjusted to create a more balanced contour, while natural asymmetry remains possible.
  • Incisions: the pattern depends on breast size, skin excess and the amount of lift required; scars may run around the areola and downwards, with a horizontal component in some plans.

The exact technique is an anatomical decision, not a package label. Nipple grafting, major reconstruction, implants and treatment of a breast problem requiring oncology are outside this guide. Ask how the surgeon will preserve sensation and discuss the possible effect on future breastfeeding without assuming a guarantee.

Bilateral breast reduction often takes around 3–4 hours, although the duration changes with breast size, tissue removal, asymmetry, incision pattern and anaesthetic plan. It is commonly performed under general anaesthesia, with the anaesthetist assessing whether that is safe for you.

Patients usually need observation and may stay overnight, depending on the operation, drains, anaesthetic and facility. The written quote should identify the surgeon, anaesthesia, theatre and hospital fees, tests, dressings, surgical bra, medication, possible drains, planned checks and discharge criteria.

Arrange your trip around assessment, surgery, observation, a breast or wound check and clearance to travel. UK NHS guidance advises avoiding flights for 5–7 days after procedures such as liposuction; breast reduction involves a different operation, so your surgeon must set the safe interval and you should keep flights flexible.

Bring loose front-opening clothing and arrange help with luggage and daily tasks. Do not plan heavy lifting, driving, gym training, swimming or a sightseeing schedule during early recovery. Flights and extra accommodation are separate unless expressly included in the written quote.

  • Share your breast history, pregnancies, breastfeeding, planned future pregnancy, previous surgery, family history, medicines, supplements, allergies and smoking status.
  • Report a new lump, nipple discharge, skin change, persistent pain or one-sided change and complete any clinically advised breast imaging before cosmetic surgery.
  • Send clear photographs if requested, while remembering that they do not replace examination, measurements or appropriate breast assessment.
  • Follow instructions about smoking, alcohol, fasting, medicines and supplements. Never stop a prescribed blood thinner without clinical advice.
  • Arrange help with luggage, washing hair, dressing and household tasks, and bring loose front-opening clothing.
  • Confirm the surgical bra, drains if relevant, wound care, driving, exercise, screening and travel instructions before booking flights.

Swelling, bruising, soreness, tightness and temporary changes in nipple or breast sensation can occur. A surgical bra may be recommended, and drains may be used. Keep incisions supported and dry or clean as instructed, avoid lifting and do not judge the final size or shape while swelling is present.

Scars are permanent but usually mature and fade to some degree over time; their final appearance varies. Breast size and shape can change with weight, pregnancy, breastfeeding and ageing. The ability to breastfeed after reduction cannot be guaranteed, so discuss future plans before choosing the technique.

Possible complications include bleeding or haematoma, infection, seroma, delayed wound healing, asymmetry, contour changes, altered sensation, fat necrosis, prominent scars, nipple or skin blood-supply problems, blood clots and anaesthetic complications. Contact the surgical team promptly about severe pain, heavy bleeding, fever, increasing redness, wound opening, shortness of breath, calf pain or another unexpected symptom.

These notes answer questions people raise before they accept a written treatment plan. They describe what that plan should make clear. If an implant or wound problem appears after I go home, who follows it and which costs are whose?

The NHS says a clinic abroad may not take on the same follow-up duty as a UK operation, and there may be no doctor arranged in your own country. The questions to settle in writing are what happens if there is a complication, where reviews take place, and what a return journey and further surgery would cost. Travel insurance usually does not cover surgical complications. Whether the clinic’s own insurance covers you is a separate question. The FDA notes that removing or replacing an implant may not be covered by insurance even when there is a complication. A manufacturer’s card or warranty is not a substitute for the surgeon’s fee for wound care, admission or revision. This page does not say that any partner pays those items. The scope has to be separated in writing before surgery. Symptoms that should be reported without delay include growing swelling or bruising, fever, a wound that opens, an implant that becomes visible, and a new lump or fluid on one side. Can a surgeon guarantee that I will be a B cup or C cup after breast reduction?

No. A surgeon can discuss a reduction goal, but bra cup labels vary between brands and the final size depends on your starting anatomy, tissue distribution, skin and safe surgical limits. Ask what shape and approximate volume are realistic for you, and how the plan balances that goal with nipple blood supply, sensation and healing. ASPS explains why an exact cup size cannot be promised.

How much breast tissue can safely be removed?

There is no single safe amount for everyone. The surgeon plans removal around your breast dimensions, composition, desired reduction and personal preferences, while considering the nipple’s blood and nerve supply. A larger reduction can change which techniques are feasible and may affect sensation or breastfeeding. Ask the surgeon to explain the proposed amount and the limits imposed by your anatomy. The ASPS patient guide describes these planning factors.

Will I lose nipple sensation after breast reduction?

Sensation may be reduced, changed or lost, temporarily or permanently; some people regain sensation as healing progresses. The risk varies with the technique and individual anatomy. Ask how the planned method preserves the nipple’s nerve and blood supply, and discuss what a free-nipple graft would mean if it became necessary. ASPS lists temporary and permanent sensation changes among the risks.

When is a free-nipple graft considered, and what can it mean for sensation or breastfeeding?

A free-nipple graft may be considered when moving the nipple on its attached tissue could leave its blood supply at unacceptable risk, often with a very large reduction or a long move. The nipple and areola are detached and grafted into a new position. Sensation may be lost, and breastfeeding can be significantly affected. This technique is outside the defined plan on this page; if a surgeon raises it, ask for a separate written clinical plan and quote. BAAPS explains when grafting may be considered and its trade-offs.

Can breast tissue grow again after weight gain or pregnancy?

Yes. Breast size can change after surgery, including with weight gain, pregnancy and breastfeeding, so the reduction may not keep the same size or shape for life. Stable weight and discussing future pregnancy plans can help set expectations, but they cannot prevent every later change. Ask how these factors could affect your expected result and timing. ASPS notes that pregnancy and weight fluctuations can alter the result.

What happens to breast-reduction scars over one or two years?

Breast-reduction scars are permanent, but they often fade over time. Some remain thick or obvious, and their final appearance varies between people and between sides. The pattern depends on the operation and your skin’s healing. Follow the surgeon’s wound-care advice and ask when scar review or treatment is appropriate for you. NHS guidance describes common scar patterns and their changes over time.
