What is root canal treatment?

Root canal treatment, or endodontic treatment, removes infected or inflamed pulp from inside a tooth. Who may need endodontic treatment?

Preparing for root canal treatment

• Share your symptoms, previous dental treatment, allergies, medical history and all medicines or supplements with the dentist.
• Bring or send recent dental records and explain whether the tooth hurts when biting, reacts to hot or cold, has swelling or has previously had a root canal.
