What a lip lift package is

A lip lift — usually a subnasal or bullhorn lift — shortens the skin between the nose and the upper lip (the philtrum) by taking a strip of skin under the nostrils. More of the pink of the upper lip can show at rest. It is still surgery with a fine scar in the crease under the nose. It is not filler, not a lip implant, not a corner-of-mouth lift unless that paper names one, and not a facelift. Millimetres of lift are not promised from a photograph at a fixed fee.

The written plan should identify the lip-lift approach after assessment. The operating clinician should be named in the written plan.

Who this package is for

Surgeons usually consider adults whose philtrum looks long at rest, whose upper teeth barely show when they speak, and who will accept a scar hidden in the nasal crease. Typical maps include a long upper lip after ageing or after years of filler that stretched the skin. If the only request is volume, filler or an implant is a different conversation. If the midface and jowl are the complaint, a facelift quote is the conversation, not this isolated lip sitting.

The date is often postponed if an active cold sore is present, if the team has asked you to stop smoking, or if a long-term condition makes anaesthetic less safe. Send daylight photographs without lipstick — front, both profiles and from below — lips at rest, no filter. Suitability is confirmed in Istanbul before anyone operates. Rhinoplasty or a facelift in the same sitting is not assumed.

What sits outside the quote

Filler, a lip implant or a corner lift unless named; Rhinoplasty, a facelift or a later revision unless named on the quote. The treating provider confirms the final clinical scope in writing. Over-shortening the philtrum to chase a photograph is refused; that is a clinical limit, not an upsell.

Theatre, anaesthetic and nights in Istanbul

Plan four to six nights in the city. That window covers the in-person assessment, the sitting, the first suture check and clearance to fly. A weekend advert rarely leaves the same medical margin if stitches come out later in the week. Seven to ten nights belong to a facelift stay, not this one. Leave room for an extra night if the team asks.

The sitting is under local anaesthetic unless the paper names a short general. It is shorter than a facelift and not a lunch-hour filler appointment. Discharge is signed by the surgeon — it is not an advertising clock.

Recovery after you fly home

The upper lip feels tight and the incision under the nose can look pink for weeks. Sleep with the head raised if you were shown that. No gym, no wide smiling that pulls the scar, no lipstick on the wound until the note says so. Desk work is often possible after several days if the surgeon agrees. The scar sits in the crease under the nostrils and fades over months. The look at the hotel is not the final lip. None of that is a millimetre guarantee.

Red flags after you return — spreading redness, pus, a temperature that persists, wound edges that part, or pain that is getting worse — mean a local clinician or A&E first, then your coordinator. Take the discharge note with you.
