Hybrid Hair Transplant (Sapphire+DHI) cost in Turkey
In September 2026, the cost of Hybrid Hair Transplant (Sapphire+DHI) in Turkey is 2,500 – 5,500 EUR for the combined Sapphire and DHI scope shown here. The written plan should explain the graft assessment, which areas use each technique, first checks, medication or washing guidance if included. The final graft plan and any additional procedure should be confirmed in writing after assessment.
Each month, Just Clinic Istanbul collects current prices / costs for hybrid Sapphire FUE and DHI hair transplant from 30 hospitals randomly selected from our partner network, listed on our Hospitals page. We compare equivalent treatment plans and publish the lowest and highest reported prices as a minimum–maximum range. They are a neutral, objective reference, not the price of a single hospital or clinic and not a personal offer from Just Clinic Istanbul.

What a hybrid Sapphire and DHI package is
A hybrid session uses two placement methods on the same scalp in one sitting. Sapphire FUE opens recipient channels with a sapphire blade in the broader thinning zones. Direct hair implantation then seats grafts with a Choi-style implanter where the hairline or a tight patch needs slower, more controlled angles. The hair is still yours, taken from the donor at the back and sides. Hybrid is not a third technique with a secret instrument; it is a planned mix of two familiar tools.
The written offer from your treating hospital or clinic should confirm the scope for this hybrid package: the session named after assessment. There is no unlimited graft promise at a fixed fee. Who extracts, who opens channels and who implants belongs on the paper, not in a slogan.
Who this package is for
Surgeons usually consider adults with patterned loss, a usable donor and a map that needs a dense hairline plus coverage behind it. A small hairline-only plan may stay on DHI alone. A wide crown with a simple hairline may stay on Sapphire FUE. A racing loss that will outrun one sitting, a donor that is already thin, or a scalp condition that needs treating first will often pause the plan.
Send daylight photographs — front, top, sides and the donor at the back — without filters or fibres. The remote look is a first estimate of whether both tools are useful. Suitability is confirmed in Istanbul before anyone operates. Beard or eyebrow work is not assumed in this package.
Over-harvesting the donor to fill every empty centimetre is refused; that is a clinical limit, not an upsell.
Session, anaesthetic and nights in Istanbul
Plan two to three nights in the city, with room for a fourth if the first wash or flight timing needs it. That window covers the in-person assessment, the hybrid session and clearance to fly after the first wash. Seven to ten nights belong to body and face operations, not this one.
The session is usually several hours under local anaesthetic, with or without sedation, because two placement methods take more chair time than a single-tool sitting of the same graft count. A small map can be shorter; a large plan can run into the afternoon. This is not a general anaesthetic like a tummy tuck. Discharge is signed by the team — it is not an advertising date.
Recovery after you fly home
The first seven to ten days are scalp care: no gym sweat, no tight hat, no scratching. Sleep semi-upright at first if you were shown that. Shock loss in weeks two to four is expected; transplanted hairs often shed before they grow. New hair is often seen around month three or four. Density builds between six and twelve months. The look matures toward twelve to eighteen months. None of that is a density guarantee.
Red flags after you return — spreading redness, pus, a temperature that persists, pain that is getting worse — mean a local clinician or A&E first, then your coordinator. Take the discharge note with you.
These notes answer questions people raise before they accept a written treatment plan. They describe what that plan should make clear. They are not a promise that any partner hospital uses a particular technique, device or payment arrangement. With your consent, an enquiry may be shared with an authorised healthcare partner.
How much donor hair can safely be taken, and what reserve should remain?
The permanent donor zone is the hair at the back and sides that resists pattern loss. Capacity is not a follicle count per square centimetre on its own. Hair calibre, curl, the contrast between hair and scalp, and how much of that zone may later be exposed all belong in the written plan. Taking more than that zone can thin the donor area and make the small round FUE marks easier to see. A high graft slogan does not measure the reserve that is left. Why is FUE, an implanter pen, or another approach being proposed?
ISHRS treats taking tissue from the donor area and making the recipient sites as separate surgical steps. FUE describes removing grafts one by one from the back or sides. DHI, or a Choi implanter, describes how a prepared graft is placed. It is not a second operation that replaces FUE. The written plan should name the harvest instrument and the placement instrument separately. Source: ISHRS position statement on physician practice.
Who will diagnose, design, harvest, make the sites, place the grafts and follow up?
The ISHRS board statement revised on 13 July 2024 says that diagnosis, planning, donor harvesting, hairline design, recipient-site creation, management of medical problems and aftercare are to be done by a licensed physician trained in hair restoration. In some countries a physician assistant or nurse practitioner may work within the limits of that licence and under that physician’s supervision. ISHRS regards a surgical step performed by an unlicensed person as unethical. Graft placement is not a separate bullet in that list, so the written plan still has to name who places the grafts. Ongoing loss of your own hair does not cancel the transplant, and longer-term medical follow-up should be written down as well. Source: ISHRS position statement on physician practice.
Can my existing hair shed temporarily after a transplant?
Yes. ISHRS describes temporary “shock loss” (telogen effluvium) in which existing, non-transplanted hairs may shed after a hair transplant; it can make the area look thinner for a time. This is different from the temporary shedding of transplanted hairs that can happen before later growth begins. ISHRS says the native-hair shedding is typically temporary, but this does not predict what will happen in an individual case. Ask the doctor responsible for your care what shedding to expect and when a change should be reviewed. Read the ISHRS FUE guidance for its description of native-hair shedding after surgery.
Does DHI mean I will not need to shave my hair?
No. DHI describes an implantation approach and does not determine whether donor or recipient hair is shaved. In FUE-based DHI, the donor area may be fully shaved, partly shaved or left unshaven; recipient hair may also be shaved or left long depending on the plan. Unshaven FUE is technically demanding, so ask the surgeon which areas will be trimmed and why. ISHRS guide to shaving options and ISHRS guide to hair-transplant surgery.
Can existing hair shed after DHI, separately from transplanted grafts?
Yes. Existing hairs in the recipient area can shed after surgery (sometimes called shock loss), separately from the expected shedding of transplanted shafts. DHI describes placement after graft harvesting and does not prevent native hairs from shedding. The pattern and duration vary; contact your treating team if the loss worries you so they can assess it and explain follow-up. Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery review.
Example wording from Estethica’s “Warranty Certificate”
The following is an example of wording in a hair-transplant certificate issued by Estethica. The graft-count placeholder is left blank, as it is in the supplied document:
With your consent and acceptance of the operation, your hair transplant operation was performed with ........ grafts and the operation got completed. As long as you fully fulfill all procedures correctly before and after surgery, you will not experience loss of any graft implanted. We guarantee that the number of grafts implanted are accurate and that the implanted hair will grow in a healthy way.
This quotation reproduces Estethica’s document wording and its statement is conditional on following the procedures before and after surgery. It is the issuer’s wording, not a guarantee by Just Clinic Istanbul or an unnamed clinic. It does not show that this certificate is included with, or applies to, any package discussed on this page. The supplied certificate does not state lifetime cover, a refund or free repeat surgery.
