Hair transplant + gastric sleeve package — Just Clinic Istanbul

In September 2026, Hair Transplant + Gastric Sleeve costs 5,300 – 9,500 EUR in Turkey for the combined hair-transplant and gastric-sleeve scope shown on this page. The written offer should identify the graft plan, sleeve-surgery plan, hospital and anaesthetic arrangements, first checks, medication or dietitian support where included. The bariatric and hair procedures require separate suitability assessment.

Each month, Just Clinic Istanbul collects current prices / costs for scalp hair transplant and gastric sleeve surgery from 30 hospitals randomly selected from our partner network, listed on our Hospitals page. We compare equivalent treatment plans and publish the lowest and highest reported prices as a minimum–maximum range. They are a neutral, objective reference, not the price of a single hospital or clinic and not a personal offer from Just Clinic Istanbul.

This stay pairs two different sittings in one Istanbul trip: follicular units taken from the scalp donor and placed into a thinning hairline, mid-scalp or crown, and a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy that turns the stomach into a narrow tube. Extraction is FUE with a small punch. The sleeve is not a gastric bypass with a bowel join, not a balloon that is later taken out, and not endoscopic stitching (ESG). It is not a ladies hair sitting, not a packed hairline plus a kilogram promise, and not two operations squeezed into one lunch hour.

The written offer from your treating hospital or clinic should confirm the scope for this combined package: the FUE map and the sleeve sitting named after assessment, hospital nights on the ward after the sleeve, followed by the first swallow checks. Who extracts, who implants and who staples the stomach belongs on the paper, not in a slogan.

Surgeons usually consider adult men with patterned scalp loss and a usable donor, whose BMI and medical history also meet a bariatric threshold after blood tests, who can commit to vitamins and a liquid-then-texture diet after the sleeve, and who accept that the two sittings are sequenced. If the donor is modest, the hair plan may stay conservative so the bank is not emptied in the same week as a general anaesthetic. If you only need a temporary balloon, that is a different pair. A bypass instead of a sleeve is a different quote.

The date is often postponed if a racing hair loss will outrun one sitting, if active scalp disease is present, if an untreated ulcer or a heart or lung finding makes theatre less safe, or if you cannot pause smoking when asked. Send daylight photographs of the scalp — front, top, sides and the donor at the back — plus height, weight and medicines. Suitability is confirmed in Istanbul before anyone operates. Beard, eyebrow, PRP, a balloon or a bypass in the same stay is not assumed.

Over-harvesting the donor to chase a packed hairline in the same week as stapling a sleeve that the anatomy will not allow is refused; that is a clinical limit, not an upsell.

Plan seven to ten days in the city. That window covers the in-person assessment, the sleeve sitting, hospital nights, a swallow or staple-line check, a separate FUE day when you can lie still, the first hair wash, and clearance to fly. Two advertising hotel nights are not our medical rule, and four advertising hospital nights are not copied from a brochure. A hair-only outpatient stay of two to four nights is too short for this pair. Leave room for an extra night if the team asks.

The sleeve is under general anaesthetic and is a hospital admission. The hair session is under local anaesthetic, with or without sedation, and is usually four to eight hours. The two are not assumed to share one theatre list: the written plan names the order of days — often the sleeve first so the ward window is done, then FUE when fluids are stable. Discharge is signed by the team — it is not an advertising date.

The first weeks are dual care: scalp rules (no gym sweat, no tight hat, no scratching) and sleeve rules (liquids, then purée, then soft food as written — not a restaurant menu because the tube is new). Walk as soon as you are asked after the sleeve; that is for clots, not for sport. Sleep as you were shown so grafts are not crushed. Shock loss in weeks two to four is expected on the scalp; transplanted hairs often shed before they grow. New hair is often seen around month three or four; density builds between six and twelve months. Vitamins after the sleeve are not optional. Desk work is often after about one to two weeks if the surgeon agrees. None of that is a density or kilogram guarantee.

Red flags after you return — spreading redness on the scalp, pus, a temperature that persists, vomiting you cannot stop, black stool, breathlessness, or a wound that opens — mean a local clinician or A&E first, then your coordinator. Take the discharge note with you.

These notes answer questions people raise before they accept a written treatment plan. They describe what that plan should make clear. How much donor hair can safely be taken, and what reserve should remain?

The permanent donor zone is the hair at the back and sides that resists pattern loss. Capacity is not a follicle count per square centimetre on its own. Hair calibre, curl, the contrast between hair and scalp, and how much of that zone may later be exposed all belong in the written plan. Taking more than that zone can thin the donor area and make the small round FUE marks easier to see. A high graft slogan does not measure the reserve that is left. Source: ISHRS position statement on physician practice.

Why is FUE, an implanter pen, or another approach being proposed?

ISHRS treats taking tissue from the donor area and making the recipient sites as separate surgical steps. FUE describes removing grafts one by one from the back or sides. DHI, or a Choi implanter, describes how a prepared graft is placed. It is not a second operation that replaces FUE. The written plan should name the harvest instrument and the placement instrument separately. Source: ISHRS position statement on physician practice.

Who will diagnose, design, harvest, make the sites, place the grafts and follow up?

The ISHRS board statement revised on 13 July 2024 says that diagnosis, planning, donor harvesting, hairline design, recipient-site creation, management of medical problems and aftercare are to be done by a licensed physician trained in hair restoration. In some countries a physician assistant or nurse practitioner may work within the limits of that licence and under that physician’s supervision. ISHRS regards a surgical step performed by an unlicensed person as unethical. Graft placement is not a separate bullet in that list, so the written plan still has to name who places the grafts. Ongoing loss of your own hair does not cancel the transplant, and longer-term medical follow-up should be written down as well. Source: ISHRS position statement on physician practice.

Why am I a candidate for this weight-loss procedure, and how do other illnesses change the choice?

Diabetes, sleep apnoea, blood pressure, medicines, earlier treatment and whether long-term follow-up is realistic have to be written for the person. A sleeve, a bypass, a balloon and endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty are not the same assessment. ASMBS describes ESG as an endoscopic option for selected adults who have not lost enough weight with lifestyle measures and medication, who are not ready for surgery, or whose surgical risk is higher. In most of that data the primary range is a BMI of 30–40, and a case outside it needs a separate written reason. ESG does not produce the same weight or metabolic effect as a sleeve or a bypass. A balloon does not take the place of that surgical assessment. Source: ASMBS ESG FAQ.

How do reflux or a hiatal hernia change the choice of sleeve, bypass, ESG or balloon?

Marked reflux or a hiatal hernia does not pass through the same door for a sleeve as it does for a volume-restricting balloon or ESG. A sleeve can increase reflux. In severe reflux, a bypass is discussed separately. Reflux symptoms, and endoscopy if it is needed, should be written before a balloon or ESG is chosen. This is not a promise that every case of reflux will settle with a bypass.

How is a leak after a gastric sleeve recognised and treated urgently?

The NHS says a leak from the stomach can appear days or weeks after a sleeve or a bypass, can cause a serious infection inside the abdomen, and can need antibiotics. Fever, a fast pulse, abdominal pain, fast breathing and vomiting that does not stop are assessed the same day. The NHS asks for 999 or emergency care for breathlessness with a swollen leg, chest pain, or bleeding that will not stop. Antibiotics do not mean the leak has closed by itself. The written plan should say who provides the scan and the route to an endoscopic stent or another operation. Source: NHS weight-loss surgery complications.

How is endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty different from a surgical sleeve, for me?

ASMBS describes ESG as a volume procedure that preserves the fundus and slows emptying of the stomach. The same weight loss or metabolic effect as a sleeve or a bypass should not be expected. In the MERIT study, mean total body-weight loss at 12 months was 13.6%. Series have reported 15–17.5%. Sutures and anchors can make a later sleeve, bypass or duodenal switch harder and can raise its risk. ESG is not recommended as a procedure on its own, without nutrition support and long follow-up. Source: ASMBS ESG FAQ.

If an urgent problem or a nutritional deficiency appears after I go home, who follows it and how are the costs split?

The NHS asks for lifelong blood tests to look for vitamin deficiency, and for 999 or 111 when emergency symptoms appear. Blood tests, a dietitian visit, another endoscopy and a hospital stay should not be assumed to sit inside the original package after treatment abroad. Travel insurance usually does not cover surgical complications. Sources: NHS recovery after weight-loss surgery, NHS advice on cosmetic surgery abroad.

Can my existing hair shed temporarily after a transplant?

Yes. ISHRS describes temporary “shock loss” (telogen effluvium) in which existing, non-transplanted hairs may shed after a hair transplant; it can make the area look thinner for a time. This is different from the temporary shedding of transplanted hairs that can happen before later growth begins. ISHRS says the native-hair shedding is typically temporary, but this does not predict what will happen in an individual case. Ask the doctor responsible for your care what shedding to expect and when a change should be reviewed. Read the ISHRS FUE guidance for its description of native-hair shedding after surgery.

Why does hair loss happen after gastric sleeve, and is it permanent?

Temporary hair shedding can happen after sleeve surgery, often during a period of rapid weight loss. The physical stress of surgery and changes in intake may contribute; inadequate protein or a nutritional deficiency can also be relevant, so the cause should not be assumed from appearance alone. Hair thinning often improves, but its course varies and persistent or severe loss deserves review and appropriate blood testing. Follow the bariatric team’s nutrition and supplement plan rather than adding high-dose products yourself. Ask the team which tests are appropriate and whether your protein and micronutrient intake need checking. University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS describes hair loss as common and usually temporary while noting nutritional factors; Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust also lists temporary thinning during rapid weight loss.

What should I do if my weight loss slows or plateaus after gastric sleeve?

A slower rate of loss, or a period when the scale changes little, does not by itself show that the sleeve has failed. Weight trajectories vary. If the change persists or concerns you, contact the bariatric team for a review of your weight trend, food and fluid intake, medicines, activity, symptoms and follow-up blood tests. The team can decide whether nutrition support, medication or further investigation is relevant; another procedure is not an automatic next step. Do not change prescribed medicines or restrict food sharply without clinical advice. The NIDDK notes that outcomes differ and some people regain weight over time, while the ASMBS statement describes individualised options for inadequate response or recurrence.

How much weight can I realistically lose after gastric sleeve?

There is no single amount that can be predicted for an individual. Weight loss varies by procedure and personal factors, and surgery cannot guarantee a particular result. Published averages describe groups rather than what one person will lose. Ask the bariatric team how it measures outcomes and what is realistic for your circumstances. The NIDDK says outcomes vary by procedure and no method is sure to produce and maintain weight loss.

Can I regain weight after gastric sleeve?

Yes, some people regain part of the weight they lost after bariatric surgery, while others maintain their loss; the amount varies. Regain alone does not explain why it happened or mean another operation is needed. A review can consider the longer-term weight trend, nutrition, medicines, activity and health changes. Ask the bariatric team to assess a sustained change rather than trying an extreme diet or changing medicines yourself. The NIDDK notes that regain occurs for some people and may depend on several factors.

Will I need vitamins for life after gastric sleeve?

Many bariatric programmes recommend long-term, often lifelong, vitamin and mineral supplements after sleeve surgery, together with regular blood tests. The exact supplements depend on your operation, diet and blood results, so follow the plan from your bariatric team rather than choosing products or doses yourself. Ask who will arrange prescriptions and testing after you return home. The Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust describes lifelong supplements after sleeve surgery, while the NHS advises ongoing blood tests and follow-up.

When can I become pregnant after gastric sleeve?

General NHS guidance advises avoiding pregnancy for 12–18 months after weight-loss surgery, until weight has stabilised. This is not individual clearance to conceive: nutritional status, medicines and personal circumstances need review, and closer pregnancy monitoring may be needed. If you are planning a pregnancy, speak with the bariatric team and maternity clinician before trying, and ask for a plan for supplements and blood tests. The NHS gives the 12–18 month guidance and notes that fertility may increase after surgery.

What happens to loose skin after major weight loss?

After substantial weight loss, some people have folds of excess skin around the abdomen, breasts, hips or limbs; others have less. The amount cannot be predicted from a planned weight-loss figure. Skin removal is a separate decision after health and weight are assessed, and is not part of sleeve surgery or this guide price unless expressly itemised. If excess skin concerns you, discuss options and timing with an appropriately qualified clinician. The NHS explains that excess skin may remain after weight loss and that surgery may be used to remove it.

The following is an example of wording in a hair-transplant certificate issued by Estethica. The graft-count placeholder is left blank, as it is in the supplied document:

With your consent and acceptance of the operation, your hair transplant operation was performed with ........ grafts and the operation got completed. As long as you fully fulfill all procedures correctly before and after surgery, you will not experience loss of any graft implanted. We guarantee that the number of grafts implanted are accurate and that the implanted hair will grow in a healthy way.

This quotation reproduces Estethica’s document wording and its statement is conditional on following the procedures before and after surgery. It is the issuer’s wording, not a guarantee by Just Clinic Istanbul or an unnamed clinic. It does not show that this certificate is included with, or applies to, any package discussed on this page. The supplied certificate does not state lifetime cover, a refund or free repeat surgery.
